KEEPING PIPES FLOWING The Air Force must maintain thousands of miles of fuel and water lines essential to our daily operations. It’s the job of Water and Fuel Systems Maintenance specialists to manage the plumbing, wastewater collection systems, liquid fuel storage and natural gas distribution systems on every base. These professionals are highly trained in a wide variety of areas, including the principles of operation and construction and fire suppression systems in order to keep our bases running smoothly while upholding the highest environmental standards. REQUIREMENTS You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.Minimum Education You must be 17–42 years of age, a U.S. citizen and obtain a qualifying ASVAB score. *High School Students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year. Applicants who are non-graduates or non-alternate credential holders must obtain an AFQT Test score of 65 or higher on the ASVAB. The Shift Manager is responsible for providing quality guest service by maintaining a clean and organized store image, as well as assisting with merchandising, pricing, and loss prevention. The Shift Manager operates the cash register/Point of Sale (EPOS) and ensures adherence with all Company/Store policies, including brand and image standards. In the absence of the Assistant Manager the Shift Manager is required to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Manager. Principle Responsibilities: • Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a welcoming and friendly environment which includes greeting and thanking every guest. • Maintain an awareness of monthly promotions, sale merchandise and advertisements, and assist in the completion of the monthly blitz execution as needed. • Follow all True North procedures for coffee, fountain and food service programs. • Receive deliveries from vendors and verify accuracy of inventory along with authorization in price book. • Lead by example by always adhering to company policies and procedures. Address staff compliance issues as needed, either directly or by bringing issues to the manager. • Assist in training and development of both new and existing staff members. • Properly address any guest issues or complaints and escalate to the Store Manager when appropriate. • As directed by the Store Manager, run daily reports, reconcile shift sheets, complete e-store reporting, and prepare and transport bank deposit. Essential Skills and Requirements: • Process information and merchandise through EPOS, to include retrieving reports, processing credit card transactions, and operating lottery machine • Communicate clearly with other employees and guests • React calmly in the event of an emergency situation • Read, count, and write to accurately complete shift reports • Take responsibility for transport of bank deposit • Stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours • Work in cold conditions for long periods of time while stocking and cleaning the cooler • Move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to work flexible schedule, including first, second and occasionally third shift Minimum Qualifications: • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent • Must have a vehicle (in order to complete banking)
